Okay, I think maybe someone is trying a little too hard with this one, but it's still a cool concept. Someone has implemented a thing for managing process load using Doom. No, really.
So, each process is implemented as a monster, using the open source Doom engine
guy. Each sysadmin plays a character, with a gun of varying quality depending
on their level of authority.
Killing a monster ends the process. The monster fights back, of course.
Higher importance processes, like, say, csh, are bigger and more powerful
monsters.
The advantages of this, according to the designer, include the fact that an
overloaded server will start killing processes on its own, as the monsters
spontaneously attack each other if too crowded.
